Camp Voyageur is a residential program located 30 minutes west of Minneapolis in Mound, MN. The camp is owned and operated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities. Camp Voyageur serves youth ages 8-17 years old, of diverse backgrounds.
The summer camping program is 10 weeks in length and includes a week of staff training. Two college age adult counselors live in a cabin and mentor 8-10 school youth as they rotate through 5 days of activities: swimming, places to kayak, fishing, archery, sports, places to camp, arts & crafts, nature classes, singing, cook-outs, hikes, and campfires.
The objective of the summer camp program is to create a fun, positive, life enhancing experience for inner-city kids. We seek to increase their self-confidence through new experiences, boost their social skills with other cultures, problem solve and make better decisions.
